Ru’ya is for UAE nationals.

For non-Emirati professionals, it should not be presented as an event where they can attend and apply for jobs.

Job seekers should use it primarily for industry intelligence and networking, rather than arriving with a stack of CVs and expecting exhibitors to operate as recruiters.

Best for: AI, Enterprise Technology, Cloud, Startups, Digital Transformation and Technology Leadership.
GITEX moves to its new home at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai this year.

The event brings together large technology companies, government organizations, startups, investors and senior technology leaders.
For professionals outside pure IT, this is still worth watching. AI, automation, data and digital platforms increasingly affect construction, logistics, aviation, finance, healthcare and almost every other major Gulf industry.
Don’t attend an exhibition without a purpose
A common mistake is spending several hours walking around an exhibition and leaving with a bag of brochures but no useful outcome.
Before registering, choose one primary objective:
- learn about a particular technology;
- meet two or three target companies;
- research suppliers;
- attend a specific conference session;
- understand a sector you want to enter; or
- reconnect with people already in your professional network.
Then research the exhibitor list before arriving.
Three useful conversations are usually worth more than collecting fifty business cards.
