From Silicon Valley to Singapore, Malayali entrepreneurs are building technology companies that punch well above their weight. The global Malayalee tech diaspora, estimated at over 200,000 professionals, is increasingly moving from engineering roles into founding and leadership positions.
In the United States, Malayali-founded startups in AI, fintech, and healthcare technology have collectively raised over $2 billion in venture capital funding since 2023. Notable recent successes include enterprise AI platforms, telemedicine solutions serving South Asian communities, and agricultural technology deployed across Kerala and Southeast Asia.
The trend extends to the Gulf, where Malayali tech professionals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are launching startups under the UAE’s favourable free zone frameworks. The Kerala Startup Mission’s international chapters in the US, UK, UAE, and Singapore are actively facilitating cross-border mentorship and investment.
Community organisations like TiE Kerala and the Global Malayalee Council are playing a growing role in connecting first-generation entrepreneurs with established Malayali business leaders, creating a support network that spans continents.
