NORKA remains an important official route for Malayali nurses looking at overseas opportunities. But finding a vacancy on a recruitment page does not necessarily mean applications are still open.
The NORKA Institute of Foreign Language currently displays nursing and healthcare recruitment opportunities covering destinations including Germany and other overseas markets.
There is, however, an important catch.
Some older recruitment notices remain visible on the jobs page after their application deadlines have passed. One Germany recruitment notice for 100 nurses, for example, lists an application deadline of 28 March 2026, even though the vacancy continues to appear on the site’s openings page.
That means candidates should treat the jobs page as a starting point, not confirmation that a vacancy is currently open.
Open the individual vacancy first
Before preparing an application, open the full recruitment notice and check:
- the application deadline;
- qualification required;
- minimum experience;
- age restrictions, where applicable;
- language requirements;
- professional registration;
- document-attestation requirements; and
- the official application route.
Different programmes can have very different conditions.
For example, NORKA’s Germany recruitment programmes have included both qualified-nurse recruitment and nursing trainee routes. A current page for the Triple Win trainee programme describes eligibility for Kerala applicants aged 18–27 under its particular programme conditions.
Do not assume the requirements for one Germany programme apply to another.
Be particularly careful with forwarded vacancies
A screenshot can look completely genuine and still be several months old.
The same applies to WhatsApp messages and social-media posts saying things such as “apply immediately” or “limited vacancies available.”
Before sending documents, return to the official NORKA or NIFL website and find the original announcement.
If the deadline is unclear, verify it directly with NORKA rather than relying on whoever forwarded the vacancy.

Prepare before the right vacancy appears
You do not need to wait for a suitable job announcement before getting organised.
Nurses considering overseas work can keep their passport, nursing qualification, registration, experience certificates and employment records ready and properly organised.
Language preparation may also be worth starting early where a target country requires it.
The objective is not to rush into whichever vacancy appears first.
It is to be ready when a current, verified opportunity that actually fits your qualifications becomes available.
Never let urgency replace verification
NORKA’s own pages show why checking the individual announcement matters: older vacancies can remain accessible even after their stated deadlines.
Before paying fees or sharing sensitive documents, candidates should make sure they are dealing with the recruitment route identified by NORKA and verify any uncertainty through official contact details.
